“Show me, Lord, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is. You have made my days a mere handbreadth; the span of my years is as nothing before you. Everyone is but a breath, even those who seem secure.”- Psalm 39 verses 4-5
There are 365 days, 8760 hours, 525600 minutes and 31557600 seconds in a year. This might seem like loads of time but I can remember last Christmas like it was only last week. Maybe I’m just getting old ?
Even though there is all this time in a year we waste most of it by looking forward to things and events , whether it’s the next weekend, birthday or holiday we are always looking forward to something else. But if we think about how short life really is should we not make every one of the 31557600 seconds count?
If you aren’t a Christian then each one of these seconds and days is another chance to turn to God and ask him to forgive and save you, don’t waste them doing things that will take you further away from the God that made you and the God that wants to know you.
If you are a Christian then each of these passing seconds and hours are chances to give praise to God and to tell others about what he has done for you , and what he can do for them too.
