Day 20

Passion Of Christ

“You shall not bow down to them or serve them; for I the LORD your God am a jealous God”  Deuteronomy 5 verse 9

Yesterday we saw how God is a “consuming fire” , he is also a very  jealous God in the context of this verse in the original Hebrew the word jealous is the same word used for cheating in a relationship. And its a perfect analogy of our relationship with God, countless times throughout the bible  God is portrayed as the perfect and loving  husband who provides and wants to care for his wife, who offers all his attention and love to her , to love his ‘bride’ , but we as his bride as his loved ones want noting to do with him , we love him when it suits us we turn away from him and give our time and love ( and therefore our worship) over to everything else apart from him. We reject his loving attempts at offering reconciliation to his.
If we are to worship this God and call ourselves his Bride-his loved one, we are to give him all that we are our love, time, relationships, hopes and dreams. We can trust him with our lives he is the perfect husband.
If we are not giving God our all then we need to just get down on our knees and pray and ask for it to be so , because his fire is all consuming but so is his Jealousy, God has an unfailing and passionate love for those that love him.
If you are not a Christian then stop flirting with the world , your true love is waiting for you . He is calling out to you all you need do is call back to him and ask for forgiveness and love , he will not refuse it to you.
